Dinosaur project

Hi Reader If you have stumbled upon this blog of mine I wish you a very warm welcome to the Tickbox site. This blog is all about a new project we are working on, which without giving away all our secrets I hope to show the progression of the project and a series of behind the scenes images and stuff to show the processes we use to create our animations. I hope to show elements which are progressing well and also to show when things don’t go quite according to plan o.O

These first shots show our lead character, Dexter. In his t-pose position which he has been modeled in using zBrush and then tweaked in Cinema 4D to refine the topology around key areas such as the eyes and mouth.

This second shot shows slight adjustments which have been made to the topology further which will make for much smoother deformation of the mesh when the rig is aplied to the character. This adjustment has been made after conversations with the rigger of the character. As this is a large project with many characters and environments we will be employing the services or many people and their skills to make sure the finished project is as slick and polished as we can make it with the budget we have available to us.

This change to the topology has unfortunately rather destroyed the UV map, which will mean redoing the process of unwrapping the dinosaurs mesh to a flat map for texture painting.

At the same time as building the characters we are working on objects for the environments in which the dinosaurs will interact with each other, so lots to do and many hours stretched out in-front of us

Kent TV new look

Initially conceptualized and designed by Tickbox Creative, the new look Kent TV site has now gone live. Our brief from the outset was to re-design the existing Kent TV site to add more functionality and to integrate clearer search option along with the addition of the Kent TV What’s on site. Working closely with the production manager and the Editor the new design is slick and easy to use. Check out the new site at http://www.kenttv.com/

From all the team at Tickbox, we wish Kent TV the best of luck with their new site and hope it fullfils their requirements. And, look forward to future developments as they happen.

Tickbox Continues to Teach C4D to big names

I am now back in the studio after further teaching courses in London as a trainer at Corps Business providing tuition in Maxons Cinema 4D application.This recent teaching course was a bespoke training course for designers at Estee Lauder and Clinique. The course aimed to introduce the designers to the Cinema 4D interface and toolsets enableing them to confidently return to their studios and create visualizations for store designs and counters. The course covered a structured but bespoke timeline that ran deligates through modelling techniques, texturing, lighting and rendering final images using Global Illumination.

I have been teaching Cinema 4D now for just over a year, and in that time have taught deligates from a variety of companies including the BBC, Estee Lauder, Clinique and Burberry.

The image below shows the final image deligates on the Estee Lauder and Cinique course were acheiving by the end of the course.

Tickbox recently completed the B2B sales brochure, and other collateral for new client, Sparrow and Finch. The marketplace is receiving the literature really well. We are hoping for great things from their products and wish them the best of success. We are looking forward to building a long lasting working relationship with them.
